Kenneth Karlstad is an Oslo based director and screenwriter working mainly in commercials and on self-initiated fictional performance-based projects. Kenneth has a background as a music video director, his work is highly emotive, observational and expressive, he portrays an often subversive edge to his characters with cinematic beauty and realism at the core.
Kenneth’s short film The Hunger won the Film Critics Award at The Norwegian Short Film Festival and is currently being screened at various festivals across Europe. He’s received a number of awards and success to date with his promo’s including nominations for Best Music Video at the SXSW Film Festival 2014 and Best Indie/Rock video at the UKMVA’s 2015 and several awards including Best Music Video at The Norwegian Short Film Festival and Atlanta Film Festival.
Ever keen to continue developing his love of emotive performance led work Kenneth is currently developing a TV series and feature film as well as continuing to work in commercials in both Scandinavia and London.
