Tim Gibbs

Tim’s interests and career span many creative disciplines: as an advertising, documentary and music video director, photographer, film maker, radio broadcaster, writer and publisher. Beginning his career in the film industry in the UK after completing a degree course in film and photography at the Polytechnic of Central London, his work is renowned and diverse: with a portfolio that includes high profile advertising clients, P&G and Unilever most notably, coming back time and again, numerous short films and documentaries and pro-bono work for the Cancer Council, Reconciliation Australia, the United Nations and Medecins Sans Frontiers among others. He has won awards at D&AD, One Show, Clio, Cannes, the New York Festivals and across Australia in film and photography categories and has published a retrospective of his life in photography titled “Caught Between Shadows & Light”. He has held two one man exhibitions of his photography and is a member of Ludlites, a group of art photographers practicing ‘plastic camera’ photography, exhibiting regularly in both Sydney and Melbourne. He continues to work extensively in the world of fashion and beauty creating TVC campaigns for a great many of the major cosmetic brands both at home, in Europe, Asia and the U.S. He is currently developing a cross media campaign directed at Men, an art installation as well as a new book of photography. His quest for challenging creative opportunities is ongoing. His energy has yet to find its limits.
